โครงการพัฒนาฟื้นฟูย่านพาณิชยกรรมพระรามที่ 1 เพื่อลดผลกระทบจากสภาวะเกาะความร้อนเมือง

โครงการ พัฒนาฟื้นฟูย่านพาณิชยกรรมพระรามที่ 1 เพื่อลดผลกระทบจากสภาวะเกาะความร้อนเมือง เกิดจากความสนใจในประเด็นความเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ (Climate Change) ซึ่งเป็นสภาวะที่ส่งผลทั้งทางตรงและทางอ้อมในทุก ๆ ด้านและพื้นที่ โดยเฉพาะพิ้นที่เมืองจากการกระบวนการความเป็นเมืองและการพัฒนา นำมาสู่ต้นต่อสภาวะเกาะความร้อนเมือง ที่ทำให้พื้นที่เมืองมีอุณหภูมิสูงกว่าพื้นที่ชนบทกว่า 6 องศาเซลเซียส ส่งผลต่อสภาวะน่าสบาย ซึ่งเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญต่อการใช้เมือง จึงเกิดเป็นโครงการศึกษาค้นคว้าและออกแบบเพื่อลดผลกระทบจากสภาวะเกาะความร้อนผ่านเครื่องมือทางการวางผังและออกแบบเมือง จนได้เป็น 4 ยุทธศาสตร์ในการบรรเทา อันได้แก่ 1) การจัดการระบบเมือง (Urban System) 2) รูปร่างรูปทรงเมือง (Urban Geometry) 3) พื้นผิวเมือง (Urban Surface) และ 4) พืชพรรณเมือง (Urban Vegetation) ที่ประกอบด้วยเครื่องมือที่หลากหลาย อีกทั้งยังประยุกต์ให้เข้ากับพื้นที่พาณิชยกรรมพระรามที่ 1 ที่มีลักษณะที่โดดเด่นทั้ง สยาม (Siam: Lifestyle experimental precinct) ปทุมวัน (Pause Pathumwan: Urban oasis) ราชประสงค์ (Your Ratchaprasong: World lifestyle destination) และ ชิดลม-เพลินจิต (Chidlom-Ploenchit: The green carpet) จากการออกแบบวางผังผลจากการจำลองอุณหภูมิพื้นผิวเฉพาะถิ่นนั้น อุณหภูมิลดลงได้อย่างน้อย 2 องศาเซลเซียส.

Urban redevelopment project in the commercial area of Rama I for decreasing of Urban heat Island impacts is a result of climate change issue which has an immediate effect on everyday lives and everywhere especially, our urban built environment is hotter than neighbouring rural areas about 6-celsius degree as a result of so-called Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect that from urbanisation and many changes of the city physically. The project is an initiative dedicated to improving the thermal comfort for the city’s residents through Urban Planning and Design tools based upon scientific evidence. The mitigation strategies of this project consisted of 4 strategies as fellows 1) Urban System 2) Urban Geometry 3) Urban Surface 4) Urban Vegetation. However, Rama I commercial area has outstanding characteristics that had to choose actions appropriately and applied to every precinct specifically. The following are provided by their characters: Siam: Lifestyle experimental precinct, Pause Pathumwan: Urban oasis, Your Ratchaprasong: World lifestyle destination, and Chidlom-Ploenchit: The green carpet. For the result of the schematic can help the Rama I cooler at least 2-celsius degree (microclimate) and to be the way to beat the heat which can reinvigorate the district and also building heat resilience.
